Former avian veterinarian turns into Business Broker of the Year.

Tucson, AZ - January 18, 2008 - Carrie Allen, CBI BBS, a principal at Allen & Young Business Brokerage, was awarded the 2007 Business Broker of the Year by the Arizona Business Brokers Association at a reception held at the Stillwell House. Honored for her contribution of excellence to the field of business brokering and the local chapter, Carrie was also given special recognition plaques from Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano and Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup.

Her professional career began as a veterinarian where she specialized in caring for birds. In fact, she fondly remembers the successful splinting of a hummingbird’s broken leg with a toothpick and her work with the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum. Together with her veterinarian husband Tom in 1977, they opened the St. Mary’s Animal Clinic. Becoming more interested in the business side of veterinary clinics led her to her current career in business brokering.

“In my mind its an award not for me, but an award for what I’ve done with others” says Carrie. Further she adds: “It is humbling to know my peers think so highly of me and it makes me feel like I’ve done a good job. It’s something I take a lot of pride in.”
